BCCI to Discuss IPL Resumption Options Today

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will discuss IPL 2025 resumption ideas today, said president Rajeev Shukla on Saturday. He further said that the Board officials and IPL governing Council will discuss the best possible schedule to resume the suspended T20 league. This came after the announcement of an immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

BCCI was forced to suspend the remaining 16 matches of IPL due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. Rajeev Shukla said newsmen, “The war has stopped. In the new situation BCCI office bearers, officials and IPL governing Council, will discuss the matter tomorrow (Sunday) and take a call. We will see which can be the best schedule to complete the tournament.”

It was speculated that the matches can be shifted to Southern Indian cities, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad but Shukla said such an option will be considered in the scenario of a continued military conflict.

The BCCI president further said, “That was an option when war was going on. There are many options which have been discussed. The ceasefire has just been announced, give some time to us, we will discuss and then only a decision will be taken.”

A total of 12 league matches and four play-off matches are yet to be played in the IPL tournament 2025.
