Banki: Sword attack during wedding procession

Banki: In a shocking incident, tension prevailed in Banki as a group clash broke out during a wedding procession. Three people were injured as some of the youths in the procession, attacked the other party with a sword.

Reportedly, the groom’s party from bindhani village under tigiria police station consisting of over 100 people, was proceeding in a procession from Baideswar village to the wedding venue. Chaos errupted when a car (Scorpio) coming from the opposite direction refused to give way, giving rise to the group clash.

The groom’s party members, fueled by anger, began chasing the people in the car with swords. The incident took place near a rural bank junction, just 400 meters away from the Baideswar police station.

The Baideswar police immediately reached at the scene and detained 4 individuals from the groom’s party. The police have also seized the Scorpio vehicle, a car and the DJ vehicle that was part of the procession. An investigation has been launched, with the police reviewing CCTV footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
