Balasore woman attempts self-immolation, critical

Balasore, July 17: At a time when the self-immolation of FM College girl Balasore, has set the state politics afire for days, a woman from the Sahadevkhunta area has allegedly attempted self-immolation on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Bidyulata Jena, spouse of a former Colletorate official, was primarily rushed to the DHH Balasore for resuscitation.

According to reports, Jena was rescued by her family members from the kitchen in a critical condtion, as a response to her alarm. Subsequently, she was rushed to the DHH for treatment and later shifted to the SCB Cuttack, as her condition was reported extremely critical.

While the precise reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, domestic illwill is suspected to the underlying cause.

Police has not received any complaint regarding the incident so far.
