Balangir: SP Clarifies The Road Accident as Pre-Planned

Balangir (Reporters Today Bureau): The accident before the RTO office in Balangir on Saturday that led to the death of a person was an intentional attempt on life .i.e. pre-planned murder, informed SP Kusalkar Nitin Dagudu on Monday. Previous enmity and land dispute was the motive behind the crime. There are two accused including one Chittaranjan Mohanty who has been detained and presently hospitalised as he was also injured in the accident, the SP added.
Earlier in the day, a new video containing the footage of the series accident surfaced, bringing a fresh twist to the case. The video purportedly showed that there was a lone occupant in the mini-truck involved in the accident, in contrast to the claims of the police. The footage showed Chittaranjan Mohanty was at the wheel at the time of the mishap which claimed the life of Srikant Bag and left Sonu Nayak critically injured. Chittaranjan had earlier claimed that he was standing at the RTO square when the mishap occurred. He fractured his leg in the mishap.
On Saturday, the mini-truck had rammed into the bike Sonu and Srikant were riding. The collision left Srikant dead and Sonu critically injured. Accused Chittaranjan also fractured his leg in the mishap and is currently undergoing treatment under the custody of police. Though initially, it appeared like an accident, later it was learnt that it was actually a pre-planned conspiracy to eliminate Sonu using the vehicle and represent it look like an accident. Therubali police has detained accused Chittaranjan when he was trying to flee to Visakhapatnam. Apart from Chittaranjan, the police have detained two of his aides and interrogating them in the custody.
