Ayodhya priests call for ban on film ‘Adipurush’
Ayodhya: Saints in Ayodhya are once again demanding a ban on the film ‘Adipurush’ due to their dissatisfaction with the dialogues in the movie.
This marks the second time within a year that the saints have expressed their objections to the film. Earlier in October, the seers had raised concerns about the perceived distortion present in the film’s trailer. They claimed that the characters from the Ramayana were misrepresented, and the Hindu deities were depicted in a distorted manner.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of Ram Janmabhoomi, emphasized that despite previous protests, the filmmakers continued to misrepresent the characters from the Ramayana and present Hindu deities in a distorted manner.
“The dialogues are shameful, and the film should be banned immediately,” he added.
“Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman as well as Ravana have been presented in totally different manner. It depicts our deities in completely different form against what we have read and known so far,” Das added.
Raju Das, the priest of Hanuman Garhi temple, also called for a ban on the movie.
Additionally, the Mani Ram Das Chhavni Peeth, which is the most influential body of Ayodhya saints, has supported the demand for banning the movie.
