Athagarh: 4 Cops Injured Amid Stone, Egg Pelting

Athagarh: The front of the Block office of Athagarh in Cuttack district of Odisha turned into a battlefield after two groups resorted to a clash on Tuesday. Accordingly, 4 police personnel including Athagarh DSP injured due to stone and egg pelting. After the incident, the administration has clamped section 163 of BNS in the area.

As per reports, today, the Athgarh MLA was supposed to attend the panchayat meeting. Before the MLA joined, the workers of BJP and BJD raised slogans and created a ruckus in front of the block. Later, they resorted to fighting and also pelted stones to each other.

As a result of the fighting at least four police personnel including the DSP of Athagarh sustained injury.

Three platoons of police force, an additional SP, two DSPs and 8 IICs have been deployed at the scene.
