Armed Robbery at Sonepur Bank Kiosk

Sonepur: An armed robbery at a bank kiosk in Dharmashala under Hikudi outpost, Subarnapur district, has left residents in shock. On Tuesday evening, miscreants looted ₹1.5 lakh from kiosk owner Nilambar Mahapatra and injured him during the attack.
According to reports, the armed assailants entered the kiosk and demanded money at gunpoint. When Mahapatra resisted, they assaulted him and fled with cash and valuables. The robbers also fired a bullet to intimidate the victim before escaping. The injured kiosk owner was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. A gun and a bullet were recovered from the site. Efforts are underway to trace the culprits.
This incident comes shortly after another daring robbery in Sambalpur, where armed robbers looted 30 kg of gold ornaments from a finance office in broad daylight. Based on CCTV footage, one suspect was later apprehended in Ranchi.
The back-to-back incidents have raised concerns over public safety and security in the region. Authorities are intensifying efforts to curb such crimes and ensure swift justice.
