Bhubaneswar: In a shocking development, a series of apartment loots have been reported in the Pahala area, following similar incidents in Pipili and Balianta. The latest thefts occurred at the Sunrise Sarovar Apartment, situated under the jurisdiction of Pahal Police Station.
The robbers targeted two flats belonging to a multinational company employee and a bank employee. Exploiting the absence of the residents, the burglars broke the door hinges and made away with cash and gold worth lakhs of rupees.
The incident was caught on CCTV, providing crucial leads for the investigation. Upon receiving information, Pahal police officials promptly visited the scene and launched a probe into the matter.
This incident is part of a disturbing trend of rising apartment thefts in Bhubaneswar, particularly in its outskirts. Criminals appear to be focusing on unoccupied properties in residential complexes, taking advantage of security lapses.
The recent spree of burglaries over the last three days has affected areas under the Pipili, Balianta, and now Pahal police station limits, posing a significant challenge to law enforcement. Authorities are under mounting pressure to address the growing menace and ensure the safety of residents.
