Anup Sai Expelled from BJD

Bhubaneswar (Pramit Pramathes): Odisha Chief Minister and BJD head Naveen Patnaik today removed former MLA Anup Sai from the post of State Warehousing Corporation Chairman following his arrest by Chhattisgarh police pertaining to a murder case.

Besides, the senior politician has also been removed from the primary membership of the ruling Biju Janata Dal.

This comes hours after Anup was arrested by Chakradhar Nagar police under Raighar block in Chhattisgarh post rounds of interrogation.

The former MLA was picked up by the police for his alleged involvement in murder of a mother-daughter duo in 2016. Anup, who joined BJD in 2014, dodged summons leading to the police action last night. He was picked up by the police from his residence in Jharsuguda.
