Anubhav Mohanty in Hurdle

Cuttack (Reporters Today Bureau): A case has been registered against Ollywood actor and Kendrapara MP Anubhav Mohanty on the basis of a complaint lodged by his wife Barsha Priyadarshini. The case has been registered under Sections 498A, 341, and 506 of the IPC against Anubhav Mohanty and two of his associates.

DCP Prateek Singh did not respond to media regarding the case lodged against Anubhav. Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi, however, confirmed about the case registered against the MP. In her complaint, Barsha Priyadarshini has alleged that Anubhav and two of his friends had locked her in a room in his house at Nandi Sahi in Cuttack on the night December 18. A police team then reached the house of the parliamentarian and rescued her.

Anubhav had been demanding Barsha to hand over one of the keys of her room which was opposed by the actress. Anubhav had then allegedly locked the room from outside and gave one of the keys to the security guard while keeping another himself. A day earlier on 18th of December, Barsha had lodged another complaint against her husband, accusing him of trying to malign her character. She lodged complaint to police after a video of an argument between the couple went viral on social media.

Notably, Barsha Priyadarshini had filed a domestic violence case at the Cuttack Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SJDM) court on August 7 accusing the actor turned politician Anubhav Mohanty of torturing her physically and mentally. Prior to Barsha’s case, Anubhav had filed a divorce petition at the Patiala House Court in Delhi on July 6. Later on September 19, Varsha had moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the divorce petition to the Family Court in Cuttack.

In a related development, Anubhav Mohanty has written to Director General of Police Abhay to investigate an audio clip involving his wife Varsha Priyadarshini and her sisters “I would sincerely request you to kindly save me and my family from being killed,” the BJD MP wrote in his letter to DGP. In the recent case, there is a chance of the arrest of the renowned actor and politician. The actor who took birth in a cultural capital of the State, how he is so uncultured.

He created many dramas relating to this case for a safe escape. His forgery educational qualification case is still under purview of inquiry. As he is in a party in power the party is trying to save him from all controversies. He is an actor as well as a public representative from a controversial Kendrapara Loksabha seat. If a public representative is trapped in such type of case then how the common men expect goodness from him.
