Angul: Two Bikers Killed in NH-55 Truck Accident

Angul: A speeding truck claimed the lives of two bikers in a tragic accident near Prashanti Hotel on NH-55 in Angul district on Friday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Bikram Routray of Jagatsinghpur and his friend, who succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Sub-divisional Hospital in Angul.

According to reports, the accident occurred when the duo was crossing the road on their motorcycle. A truck, allegedly speeding on the empty road, failed to slow down at the crossroad and rammed into them.

Following the incident, locals detained the truck driver and blocked the highway, demanding justice for the victims. Police arrived at the scene to pacify the protesters and clear the road. An investigation into the incident is underway.
