Andhra Pradesh bars CBI from investigating cases in state
Amaravati: In a blow to the Centre, Andhra Pradesh government on Friday withdrew the general consent given to the members of the Delhi Special Police establishment to exercise power in the state.
The CBE will not be able to investigate cases in Andhra Pradesh.
TDP leader Lanka Dinakar said.”The decision has been taken in wake of incidents happening in CBI since last six months. It lost its independence due to the involvement of the government which is using CBI as a tool against political opponents.”
In March this year, TDP had walked out of the NDA over the demand for special category status for Andhra Pradesh. Since then there has been a constant war of words between the state government and the centre.
