Ambulance Hits Dumper on NH 16 in Jajpur; 1 Dead, 3 Injured

Jajpur: A tragic accident on NH 16 near Chandikhole Chhak in Odisha’s Jajpur district claimed one life and left three others critically injured after an ambulance collided with a stationary dumper early today.

The incident occurred at the Neulapur Railway Overbridge when the ambulance, carrying a patient and three attendants from West Bengal to Bhubaneswar, rammed into the dumper. The impact of the crash resulted in the death of one passenger on the spot, while the others sustained severe injuries.

Although the exact cause is yet to be confirmed, initial reports suggest the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Chandikhole fire services promptly responded, rescuing the injured and transporting them to a nearby hospital. Police have launched an investigation, and further details are awaited.
