Ambulance Catches Fire Near Pipili, Patient Escapes Unhurt

Bhubaneswar: An ambulance carrying a snakebite patient caught fire late last night on the national highway near Pipili Selfie Point in Puri district, triggering panic among commuters.

Sources said the vehicle was en route from Delanga to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar when it suddenly caught fire due to a suspected short circuit.

The alert driver acted swiftly, stopping the ambulance and safely evacuating the patient along with accompanying relatives before the fire spread.

Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames before they could cause further damage.

The patient was later shifted to another ambulance and transported to the hospital for treatment. No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
