Amazing coastal fun run, heritage walk, Golf tourney mark start of Investors’ Meet

Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: ‘Make in Odisha Conclave 2018’, one of the largest investment summits in India started on Sunday with a set of amazing activities which included a 5 KM Coastal Fun Run, Heritage Walk, Golf Tournament and tour of Kala Bhoomi.

The guests attending Make in Odisha Conclave 2018 enjoyed a host of entertainment activities, with plenty of take-home experiences while participating in them.

The event started at dawn break with a 5km coastal fun run along the serene coast of Odisha from Konark temple to Ramachandi boat club along Chandrabhaga beach.

More than 200 participants, including various businesspersons, Government officials and students took part in this unique coastal fun run with three winners among men and women separately.

            The heritage walk took the participants through history showcasing the ancient and historically significant temples like Mukteshwar temple, Parasurameswar temple, Bindusagar lake, Ananta Vasudeva temple and kitchen and also Art Vision Academy. Walk to Ekamra showcased the participants the old times in Odisha and made them witness the splendid temples of Bhubaneswar, culminating in a stroll through the medicinal plants of Ekamravan.

People interested in sports were given a chance to showcase their skills in a splendid Golf Tournament at Bhubaneswar Golf Club, which is the city’s premier Golf Club with a 9 hole course.

About 32 participants enjoyed Golf along with a beautiful view of the stretches of forest and hillocks on the one side giving a beautiful blend of the city’s nature. Some of the industry captains playing golf were from Tata Steel, Adani Group, Dalmia Cements, Toyota, Indian Railways, Paradip Port Trust Acrux and others.

While Dalbir Singh, associated with Royal Hotels had the best gross score, winner was Shailendra Upadhyay from Bhubaneswar Golf Club and also associated with ESSPL.

Runner-up was Dilip Tirkey, former hockey legend and currently the chairman of OTDC and the prizes were distributed by the Sports Minister Chandrasarathi Behera.

For the participants interested in Odisha arts, tradition and culture, a tour of Kala Bhoomi, the crafts museum of Odisha displayed the multifaceted rich and vibrant traditions of handlooms & handicrafts of the state.

 The participants were able to immerse themselves in the vibrant galleries depicting the evolution of the hand-woven fabrics and handicrafts of the State. A live pottery workshop and musical performance engaged the participants at the museum.
