Addl Tahasildar of Maneswar in Vigilance Snare

Sambalpur: The Additional Tahasildar of Maneswar Tahasil in Sambalpur district has been nabbed by Odisha Vigilance while he was taking bribe of Rs 6000 on Saturday.

The accused Addl Tahasildar has been identified as Bhubanananda Sahu, ORS.

As per reports, today, a short while ago, Bhubanananda Sahu, ORS,  Addl. Tahasildar, Maneswar Tahasil, Dist- Sambalpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.6,000 from a Complainant. He was allegedly taking the bribe for conversion of his agricultural land to non-agricultural (homestead) purpose and issuance of ROR in his favour.

Initially, Sahu demanded bribe Rs.10, 000. However, following negotiation, he reduced the bribe amount to Rs.6, 000. As Sahu refused to do the work unless the bribe was paid, the complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities, alleging his harassment by Sahu.

Following this, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sahu today in his office while taking bribe Rs 6,000 from the complainant. The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Sahu and seized.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been initiated at 3 locations connected to Sahu from DA angle.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No 09 dated 19.04.2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against the accused Sahu, Addl Tahasildar.
