Abducted CoBRA Jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas released

New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas who was kidnaped by Naxals during the Bijapur ambush on April 3, has been released.

As per reports, CRPF’s Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, from the 3.25 lakh strong paramilitary force’s elite CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action), went missing during a fierce gun battle with a platoon of over 300 People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district last week in which 22 security personnel were killed and 31 injured.

“CoBRA jawan Rakeshwar Singh Manhas kidnapped by Naxals during Bijapur attack on April 3, has been released by them,” ANI said quoting, police sources

Photographs of Manhas sitting in a hut had surfaced earlier.

Meenu, wife of the CRPF jawan said “Today is the happiest day of my life. I always remained hopeful of his return. I thank the government,”.
