A tigress from Maharashtra was released today at the Simlipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha.

Mayurbhanj: A female tigress from Maharashtra’s Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve has been relocated to Odisha’s Simlipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district and was released today.
The young tigress, approximately 2.5 years old, was captured at Tadoba-Andhari early Saturday morning and transported by road, arriving at Simlipal on Sunday evening. The relocation is aimed at increasing the tiger population within the reserve.
A dedicated team, including the Simlipal Director, Assistant Director, veterinarians, and a rapid response unit, coordinated the relocation and release of the tigress into an enclosure within the core area of the Kabataghai forest in Simlipal.
The transfer received the green light from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) as part of a broader translocation mission.
