Donations of over Rs 1 cr & gold worth lakhs for Maa Majhighariani

Rayagada: After 6 months, the donation box (Hundi) of the revered Goddess of Rayagada, Maa Majhighariani was opened under tight security. Nine Hundis were opened by the temple administration committee.

The donations to the revered Goddess came out to be Rs 1,04,36,963 crore. Along with that 38 grams of gold and 2.5 kg of silver had also been donated to the temple over a period of six months. Even 12 foreign currency coins were also found from the donation box.

The counting went on for 8 hours. Over 200 volunteers and committee members were engaged in the counting process. The counting started at 9 am on Monday.

Around 150 volunteers, members of the Utkal Gramin Bank and 50 members of the temple committee were present.

It was then deposited in the bank. The interest earned from this will be used for the developmental work of the temple and for the welfare of the devotees.
