Three Minors Detained for Risky Railway Reel in Boudh

Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident that underscores the dangers of social media stunts, three minors from Boudh district have landed in serious trouble after filming a life-threatening video lying on active railway tracks as a train passed overhead.

The incident took place near Dalupali, close to Purunapani Station in the Manmunda area. The video, captured on a mobile phone, shows one of the boys lying flat on the railway tracks as a train approaches with its siren blaring, while another minor films the act from a distance. A third boy is seen directing the stunt, which was later uploaded to social media platforms.

The video has sparked widespread outrage, especially as railway services were recently introduced in Boudh district after years of public demand. The dangerous stunt has not only raised serious safety concerns but has also triggered public criticism over the misuse of social media by teenagers.

Responding swiftly, Bolangir Railway Police detained the three minors involved. Authorities are currently interrogating them and have indicated that further action may follow as per railway safety regulations.

Railway officials have strongly condemned the act, emphasizing that such behavior not only endangers lives but also violates Indian Railways safety laws. They have issued warnings to the public, particularly minors, against attempting or recording stunts on railway property.

Parents and guardians have been urged to closely monitor the online activities of their children and educate them about the risks and legal consequences of such reckless behavior.
