BJP MLA Booked for Alleged Remarks Against BJD Leader

Balasore: Three voters from the Nilgiri Assembly constituency in Odisha’s Balasore district have filed a police complaint against local BJP MLA Santosh Khatua, accusing him of making derogatory and objectionable remarks against BJD leader Dr. Lekhasri Samantsinghar.
The complaint, lodged at the Nilgiri Police Station, alleges that the comments—reportedly made on a social media platform—targeted Dr. Samantsinghar, who contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Balasore parliamentary seat as a BJD candidate.
In their written submission, the complainants expressed deep anguish, stating that the remarks were humiliating, shameful, and offensive towards women. “We feel insulted as citizens after hearing such statements from our elected representative,” they said.
The trio urged the police to take immediate and appropriate legal action, emphasizing that such language not only disrespects Dr. Samantsinghar but also undermines the dignity of women at large.
As of now, MLA Santosh Khatua has not issued any public statement in response to the allegations.
