Devotees soaked with spirituality as Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosh

Puri: All the rituals are underway at their scheduled time and the Chaturdha deities have boarded their respective Raths.

At first Lord Sudarshan’s Pahandi begun, then Lord Balabhadra was brought. The Lords were brought in a procession that made the ambience full of spirituality. Devi Subhadra was the third to begin Her brief journey from the Ratna Bedi in Srimandir.

The Lord of the Universe Lord Jagannath was the last one to board his Rath Nandighosha. The brief journey from the Srimandir to His Rath holds the emotions of lakhs of devotees as they admire the beauty of the Kala Thakur.

The Lord of the Universe, moves in a swaying motion and the joy of watching him during the Pahandi is surreal and unmatchable. Hindu, non-Hindu, young, old all are baffled and awestruck at the beauty of the moment. The Puri administration had organised several arrangements for the sojourn journey of the Lords to their maternal aunt’s house at Gundicha temple.

The events for Rath Yatra are not secluded but is a cluster of 9 special occasions. These are:

2. Gundicha Marjana on June 26

3. Rath Yatra which is today

4. Hera Panchami on July 1

5. Sandhya Darshan on  July 3

6. Bahuda Yatra on July 5

7. Suna Besha on July 6

8. Adharana Pana on July 7
