8-Year-Old Boy Dies, Father Critical in Tragic Accident in Tangi

Tangi: An 8-year-old boy lost his life, and his father was critically injured in a tragic accident on the Tangi-Kalupada road in Khordha district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Duggu Maharana, while his father, Santosh Maharana, hails from Kamara Sahi in Jaripada village under Chilika Block.

According to reports, the father and son were returning from a dance class in Chandapur when their bike fell into a river near Badasankha on the Kalupada-Tangi road.

Locals quickly rushed to the scene, rescuing the duo and transporting them to Tangi hospital. Unfortunately, Duggu succumbed to his injuries. Santosh, whose condition worsened, was transferred to a Bhubaneswar hospital, where he is currently battling for life.

Tangi Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
