78 Bangladeshi Fishermen Detained in Indian Waters

Paradip: The Indian Coast Guard detained 78 Bangladeshi nationals on Tuesday for allegedly straying into Indian waters. According to official sources, the detainees were aboard two trawler boats when they were intercepted by Coast Guard personnel.

The individuals are being transported to Paradip Port aboard the Coast Guard vessel Amogh. They will be handed over to the Paradip Marine Police by this evening.

All 78 detainees are reported to be in good health, officials confirmed. Preliminary investigations suggest the fishermen may have inadvertently crossed the International Maritime Boundary Line while fishing. Further inquiries will be conducted upon their arrival in Paradip.
