7 Arrested For Smuggling Ganja

Malkangiri: Kalimela police in Malkangiri district seized ganja worth over Rs 5 lakh and arrested as many as seven persons including a police constable from Telangana in this connection.

As per reports, Kalimela police seized around 103 kilograms of ganja having an estimated market value of over Rs 5 lakh and arrested seven smugglers, all from Telangana including the constable R Sreeny Naik, near Kamala Padar area in the district during night patrolling.

The ganja was reportedly being smuggled from Malkangiri to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The cops have also seized two cars, three iPhones, ATM cards, PAN cards and Aadhaar cards from their possession. The accused persons have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and forwarded to a court.
