6256 More Birds Counted in Bhitarkanika

Kendrapara: The population of monsoon birds has increased in Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district of Odisha this nesting season. Forest officials on Saturday released the bird census report which pegged the nesting bird population at 1,30,123. It is to be noted that in the rainy season last year, forest officials had sighted 1,23,867.

As per reports, the Monsoon bird census was completed in Bhitarkanika this year. This has been observed that the number of birds has increased.  This year 1 lakh 30 thousand 123 birds were counted whereas last year the number of birds counted was 1 lakh 23 thousand 867.

In comparison to last year this year 6256 birds have increased in Bhitarkankia, said Rajnagar DFO regarding increase in number of birds.
