5 years jail term for Sushanta Dhal Samant

Today Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court, Cuttack  sentenced gangster Sushant Dhal Samanta to five years in jail in connection with a case of firing to police officer and another case of keeping illegal gun. Besides, a fine amounting Rs 25,000 has also been slapped on him.

Sushant had opened fire on a police officer at Bidanasi area in 1999. He is also involved in various criminal activities like tender fixing in Kendrapara. Sushant, along with his brother Sushil Dhal Samanta, was arrested in 2016 for alleged involvement in criminal activities.
