46th Regional Conference Organized by ICAI

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) organized the 46th Regional Conference spread over two days (18th & 19th February 2022) at Hotel Mayfair, Bhubaneswar with the theme “CA Profession – Touching the New Horizon” where in more than 3500 members attended the event from across India in Hybrid Mode i..e., both in Physical and Virtual Mode. This Regional conference is an endeavor to maintain and develop competencies of the members, to enhance their knowledge, expertise and skill sets in varied areas of the profession.

The Inaugural session of the 46 th Regional Conference organized by ICAI & EIRC was attended by Shri Sridhar Patra, Hon’ble Chairman & Managing Director, National Aluminium Company Ltd – the Chief Guest; Shri KR Vasudevan, Director (Finance) of Mahanadi Coal Field Ltd. – Guest of Honour.

The Inaugural address was delivered by CA Sunil Kr. Sahoo, Chairman, EIRC in presence of the undermentioned Regional Council and Central Council Members of Eastern Region. CA Nitesh Kr. More, Past Chairman, EIRC, CA Ravi Kr. Patwa, Vice Chairman, EIRC, CA. Debayan Patra, Secretary, EIRC, CA. Hari Ram Agarwal, Treasurer, EIRC, CA. Sumit Binani, Past Chairman, EIRC alongwith three Council Members, ICAI from Eastern Region, CA Ranjeet Kr. Agarwal, and CA Sushil Kr. Goyal and CA (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, Hon’ble President of ICAI.

On this occasion, CA Sunil Kr. Sahoo, Chairman, EIRC stated, “I strongly believe that deliberations on topics by experts, specially chosen from all over the country would definitely aid the members in dealing with the issues with greater competence and confidence. The Technical Sessions are planned in a way that issues and deliberations are practical and the Conference should turn out to be a fruitful, enlightening and educative experience for all the participants and a feast of knowledge is enjoyed by all.” He highlighted that “CAs have been instrumental in the proper and systematic implementation of the policies and reforms and ensuring all the requisite compliances from the stakeholders. Whether involved in their own practice or working in corporate world, CAs have demonstrated that they are the most sought after professionals. Also their increasing participation to the cause of social service over a period of time has established them as indispensable ‘must have’ professionals, an invaluable asset, and a force called “wisdom” to be reckoned, which plays a significant role in moving the wheels of prosperity of the businesses, thereby partnering in nation building.
