3 Injured in Lightning Strike

Jagatsinghpur: Three persons including a woman and her two sons sustained critical burn injuries after their house caught fire following a lightning strike in Kujanga block of Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district in the wee hours of Saturday.

As per reports, the incident took place at Barihadiha village in Kujanga when lightning struck a thatched house. Following this, the house caught fire and two of its rooms were completely gutted.

The woman and her two sons were present inside the rooms when the house caught fire and sustained critical burn injuries. Initially, they were rushed to a nearby medical facility and were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their health condition deteriorated.

Notably, several parts of Odisha including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar experienced Nor’wester rain and thunderstorms last night.
