3 Hardcore Maoists Surrender in Kandhamal

Phulbani: Three hardcore Maoists surrendered before IGP, Southern Range, Berhampur, Niti Shekhar, Kandhamal Superintendent of Police (SP) Harisha B.C and Commandant 127 Bn CRPF at DPO, Phulbani.

The surrendered Maoists are Made Beti @ Champa (DVCM), Raju Dodi @ Ajay (ACM) and Admo Madvi @ Manju (ACM). All of them are from Chhattisgarh origin and their task was to reactivate the North-South corridor from Jharkhand to Chhattisgarh through south-centre Odisha. They were working in CPI (Maoist) organization since 2009, 2016 & 2011 respectively and were involved in several violent incidents both in Chhattisgarh and Odisha state. They have surrendered to live a normal life.

According to them, regular Anti- Naxalite Operations in interior areas of Kandhamal district, two Maoist cadres were neutralized in the recent Exchange of Fire on 30.06.2025 and they were disturbed and frustrated by the continuous unethical activities in Maoist organization like sexual harassment offemale cadre, extortion of funds through intimidation and induction of young boys and girls in the organization by false PRESS NOTE Made Beti @ Champa (DVCM) Raju Dodi @ Ajay (ACM) Admo Madvi @ Manju (ACM) promise and propaganda.

They expressed that, they were disillusioned by the highhanded activities and rude behaviour of senior leaders towards the lower rank cadre, encouraging cannabis cultivation and trade, disruption of electoral processes, etc. They were also attracted towards the policies of the government for the development and upliftment of the tribal people.

They were assured by S.P. Kandhamal through different posters and letters that they would be suitably rehabilitated under the surrender and rehabilitation scheme of the Government, which includes financial assistance, homestead land, house build assistance, education assistance vocational training with monthly stipend and join in the mainstream of society. In last one month 15 Maoist cadres have been neutralized i.e. by E.O.F/Surrender.

While welcoming the three surrendered Maoist carders to the mainstream of the society IGP, Southern Range, Berhampur, appealed the Maoist to shun violence and join the mainstream society and partake in the process of development and tribal upliftment. He stated that the Anti-Maoist operation will be further intensified in the affected areas till the problem is completely stamped out from the state.
