2 More Plots of Balangir CCE Unearthed in UP

Balangir: During the ongoing searches, Odisha Vigilance discovered two additional plots in Uttar Pradesh owned by Sunil Kumar Rout, Chief Construction Engineer of the Lower Suktel Project. The vigilance unit found two more plots acquired outside Odisha in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The plots are located near Vrindaban Chandrodayo Mandir, Chhatikara Road, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Further details of area, cost etc are being ascertained.

Investment and savings etc made by Rout were computed and it is found he has paid a premium of Rs 1.86 Crore to various Insurance companies. Further, bank deposits of Rs 40.39 Lakhs have been ascertained so far. Total deposits assessed so far are over Rs 2.26 Crores. Further details of investments made in shares and other financial instruments are being verified.

Enumeration of assets within the Farmhouse at Saptasajya, Dhenkanal, was carried out. The farmhouse is over approx 8 acres of land area.

a) A two-storeyed residential building was found inside the Farmhouse.

b) Also, 1 poultry farm of 2123 Sqft. area was found inside the Farmhouse, wherein about 1000 number of country chickens and ducks were detected.

c) Further, 1 Cow shed of 2550 sqft. was found inside the Farmhouse, wherein 45 numbers of Cows and 25 numbers of calves were detected.

4) Valuation of assets in the Farmhouse is being made. The help of Veterinary Officers has been sought in this regard.

5) Inventory of Lockers will be taken up today.

Searches are continuing. Further reports are awaited.
