2 Fake Doctors Arrested in Balangir

Balangir: Two persons identified as Suprakash Ray and Pabitra Biswas belonging to neighbouring West Bengal were arrested today for treating patients under Khaprakhol block and this police limits in Balangir district, sans any supporting medical qualification for doing so.

According to a senior official, a police team was tipped off about such illegal activities going on in the Khaprakhol block. Swing into action and acting on the orders of Balangir SP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo, the team raided two different places leading to the arrest of the two fake doctors.

Suprakash was caught red-handed from Jhankarpali village of Bhanpur panchayat and Pabitra from Nandupala village, both under the Khaprakhol block of the district. Police have recovered a wide variety of medicines from their possession, which were seized later. A Khaprakhol PS case (No-105/2023) was registered in this connection and a detailed probe was initiated. The arrested have been forwarded to court, IIC Ramakant Sahoo said.
