2 Critical in OMFED Van-Truck Collision

Cuttack: An Omfed van hit a truck due to dense fog in Telangapentha on Cuttack city outskirts on National Highway 16, two people are critically injured in it. The incident happened early on Tuesday morning near the Omfed square.
In the accident, a Omfed milk carrying pick up van hit a truck from behind near the Omfed square. The accident resulted due to dense fog in twin cities today. The driver and the helper of the Omfed pick up van are critically injured. They were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The helper has been identified as Rakesh Biswal. The accident occurred when the Omfed van was going to deliver milk packets at various shops of the state run OMFED. The vehicle was going from Naraj to Nakhara square when the mishap happened. The truck was standing stationary when the Omfed vehicle rammed into it.
“As there was dense fog and visibility was reduced to almost zero the Omfed vehicle hit the truck from behind,” said a passerby. The Baranga fire brigade was called to rescue the driver and the helper trapped inside it. The fire personnel cut the front part of the van using a gas cutter and rescued the trapped driver and helper. Meanwhile the locals had called for the ambulance and the critically injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
