19-Day-Old Baby Sold in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): In a shocking incident a couple allegedly sold their 19-day-old baby boy for Rs 10,000 in the state capital today.

The accused couple reportedly sold their fifth child to another couple of Bharatpur area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

On being informed about the incident by the Child Welfare Committee, The cops of Khandagiri station initiated efforts to rescue the new born and detained the accused duo for questioning to ascertain whether they committed the offence or followed legal procedure regarding adoption.
