12-hour Bandh In Dharmagarh: Odisha

Members of Milit Kriyanusthan Committee ( Joint Action Committee) today called a 12-hour bandh in six blocks of Dharmagarh demanding district status.

Various organizations, political parties and individuals in the district have supported the agitation.

As a result of the stir, normal life was disrupted in Dharmagarh, Junagarh, Koksara, Jaipatna, Golamunda and Kalampur blocks with closure of markets, business-establishments, educational institutions and government offices.

Vehicular movement was also adversely affected due to the shut down as agitators burned tyres on the middle of the road and staged road blockade.

Meanwhile, adequate security measures have been taken by the district authorities to avoid any untoward incident.
