11 More COVID Positives Traced in VIMSAR

Sambalpur (Reporters Today Bureau): COVID-19 tally at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Burla of Odisha’s Sambalpur district reached 74 as 11 more persons, including 10 MBBS students and a laboratory attendant, tested positive for the virus, yesterday. A total of 120 samples were sent for RT-PCR test.

With apprehension of more cases, the VIMSAR authorities have started contact tracing of the infected persons. A four-member team has been formed by the authorities for the contact tracing activity. All hostels on the campus were being sanitised as a part of precautionary measure.

Sabitri Girls Hostel, Gargi Girls Hostel, Charak Hostel, Bhrugu Hostel and Patanjali Hostel of VIMSAR have been declared as Micro Containment Zone by the District Administration for active contact tracing and prevention of the possible transmission of the virus. Similarly, Staff Quarters, Apala Girls Hostel, Atreya Hostel, Biswamitra Hostel and Markandeya Hostel of VIMSAR have been declared as Buffer Zone.
