₹26 Lakh Looted from Balasore Jewellery Shop
Jaleswar: In a daring daylight heist, miscreants looted 300 grams of gold jewellery and ₹5 lakh in cash from a jewellery shop in Kamarda Bazar, Balasore district, on Wednesday.
The incident occurred under the Kamarda Police Station limits when the shop owner briefly stepped out to fetch drinking water. Taking advantage of his absence, the culprits entered the shop and fled with a bag containing gold ornaments and cash from the treasury.
According to the shop owner, the stolen jewellery weighs approximately 300 grams, with an estimated market value of ₹21 lakh. Combined with the cash, the total loss is around ₹26 lakh.
Upon receiving information, Kamarda Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation to apprehend the offenders. Efforts are underway to track down the culprits and recover the stolen items.
